Joe Tate and Debbie Dingle kissed on an episode broadcast at the start of May.
The former lovers found themselves in a romantic embrace following Joe's near death experience.
When Debbie visited Joe at the hospital he told her, "Sorry but nearly dying brings things into focus.
"My life didn't flash before my eyes or anything but if it did then it would have been so filled with regret.
Debbie replied, "I want to hate you, I wish I could hate you because I could walk away and have nothing more to do with you."
Joe then kissed Debbie but she walked out soon after.
How did Joe Tate nearly die in Emmerdale?
Debbie found Joe floating in the lake of a quarry unconscious after he was dared to jump off a cliff by his little brother Noah.
She jumped into the water and performed CPR on him before phoning an ambulance.
His heart briefly stopped, meaning that he technically died and came back to life.
When Debbie visited him in hospital he asked her, "Why didn't you let me drown?"
