Gemma Collins hints she’s leaving Towie and says it’s ‘the end of an era’

GEMMA Collins has hinted she could be quitting Towie along with some of the show's other big names.

The GC, 37, shared behind-the-scenes video on Instagram as the cast wrapped up filming for the current series.

Fan favourite Gem ended her clips by saying: "End of an era. Lots of people leaving Towie. It's sort of a sad day too."

There weren't any emotional farewells just yet though, as Gemma was too busy making the most of the free gin cocktails being prepared.

She also enjoyed a glass of bubbly but accidentally spilled some on her cleavage.

"I don't usually drink at Towie filming because I like to be professional but it's the last day," she said. "No, just dropped it down me. S**t."

Gemma then politely asked for a tissue to clean herself up.

A representative for Gemma was unavailable for comment.

The star's stock has risen massively over the past 12 months and she is "top choice" to star in Celebrity Apprentice when the show makes a comeback after a decade.

BBC bosses are reviving the spin-off version of the Alan Sugar show for a new series in 2019 - and it looks like the Towie star is just what producers are looking for.

The show will be part of Comic Relief just like it was in 2007 and 2009.

With Gemma's no-nonsense attitude and savvy business skills, she is bound to be a big hit on the show.

A source told the : “It feels like the right time to bring it back. It’s been 10 years since it last aired, but The Apprentice is still a popular show with a strong format. Top brass at the BBC all agreed it would be great to have the celeb version back on screen.”

According to the paper a leaked memo reveals: “The show allows celebrities to participate in this business challenge format under the watchful eye of Lord Sugar.”
