Prince Harry and Meghan Markle forced to turn down free pizza for life as a Pizza Hut wedding gift because of royal rulebook

PRINCE Harry and Meghan Markle have been forced to turn down free pizza for life as a wedding gift.
The couple were offered a VIP gold card by Pizza Hut, which allows unlimited free deliveries and restuarant meals, ahead of their nuptials.
Kensington Palace described the gift as “very generous” and “lovely”, but rejected it due to royal protocol.
A source said: “Harry and Meghan are bound to be lavished with all kinds of spectacular luxuries ahead of their wedding.
“But even royals might struggle to beat the simple pleasure of a night in with a naughty takeaway.
“The couple have shown they are big foodies - Harry proposed over a roast chicken after all - so no doubt they would have loved to take Pizza Hut up on their offer.
“However, members of the royal family are unable to accept gifts of a commercial nature, so unfortunately they’ll have to cough up some dough whenever they want pizza.”
What we know so far…
Pizza Hut described Harry, 33, as “the king of pizza” in a letter offering the VIP gold card, which would have been presented to the couple in a velvet lined black presentation box with a pizza slice decoration.
Harry and Meghan would have joined celebrities including rapper Stormzy, former One Direction member Louis Tomlinson and Love Island winner Kem Cetinay in holding a VIP card.
Harry has proven he is partial to comfort food in the past, becoming a regular fixture at swanky Battersea pizzeria Bunga Bunga and surprising patrons at a Nandos in Fulham in 2013 with a midnight order.
Meghan, meanwhile, has admitted a deep pan is the way to her heart, once saying: “The best part of [a] date is having a slice of pizza and a couple of drinks on the way home.”
Last month, Prince William admitted he is also a fan of Nandos when meeting the brand’s founder.
