DAVID Beckham was spotted furiously chewing gum in the church at the Royal Wedding today.

The former footballer attended with marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with wife Victoria.

But as the congregation waited for the ceremony to get under way, the camera panned to David, who was seen chewing as he glanced over his shoulder to the row behind him.

The moment didn't go unnoticed by eagle-eyed viewers at home, who took to Twitter to comment on the 43-year-old faux pas.

One wrote: "David Beckham is CHEWING GUM. No wonder Victoria is seething. Peasant."

Another commented: "Highlight so far... David Beckham chewing gum in the Chapel like it's a football dugout" while a third added: "Is David Beckham chewing gum?! *horrified face*".

    A fourth tweeted: "David Beckham is chewing gum, I thought that was a royal no no?"

    Indeed many were unimpressed by the sportsman's actions.

    One viewer wrote in a scathing tweet: "David Beckham chewing gum at the #RoyalWedding is definitive proof that you can't buy class."

    A second added: "David Beckham chewing gum like he's down some registry office wedding for Pete from down the pub. Classy."

    While David came under fire for chewing, wife Victoria, 44, was mocked for failing to crack a smile as she arrived for the Royal Wedding.

    Other viewers watching coverage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's big day joked the fashion designer looked as though she was “dressed for a funeral”.

    Former Spice Girl Victoria looked less than impressed with the early arrival time and grimaced as David beamed for the crowds.

    Piers Morgan posted a snap of her online and joked: “Victoria Beckham wearing a stunning scowl.”

    Journalist Caitlin Moran said Vic's scowl "is the 'Pippa's bum' of this wedding."
