Pussycat Dolls reunion on hold after Pia Mia recruited to front rival group
IT was the cat fights that spelled the end of the Pussycat Dolls the first time – now history may repeat itself before they’ve even reunited.
In October, Bizarre told how the girls planned to get back together.
But the claws are out again after founder Robin Antin angered members by creating a group called Pussycat Dolls: Next Generation without consulting any of them.
She has recruited Do It Again singer Pia Mia to front the new act – the same role Nicole Scherzinger had.
And yesterday she held auditions in LA to find other members.
But Nicole, along with Melody Thornton, Jessica Sutta, Ashley Roberts and Kimberly Wyatt, who had all been in talks to return, have been left upset by their band’s name being used for another group.
A music insider revealed: “Robin has really put the cat among the pigeons with this new project. Although no agreement had been reached, all of the original girls were up for reuniting and they were just figuring out how it would work.
“But then Robin put out a casting call for this new group last week and it came as a complete surprise for the girls.
“It seems like Robin decided the comeback wasn’t going to happen so has gone off and done her own thing. It’s a bit messy and the other girls have taken it personally.”
Dancer Robin formed the Pussycat Dolls as a burlesque troupe in 1995 before relaunching them a decade later as a girl group, far left. They went on to have eight UK top ten hits between.
But until they can make an agreement with her, the reunion can’t happen. Perhaps these cats don’t have nine lives after all.

Price is wrong
40th birthday booze-up with toyboy
HER marriage is crumbling and heading for a bitter divorce battle, but Katie Price’s downward spiral may just be beginning.
Just days after I revealed her fling with Brighton footballer Shane Duffy, she’s already moving on to yet another new man and spent her 40th birthday on Tuesday with a toyboy.
So much for growing older gracefully.
Katie joined Kris Boyson, a 29-year-old personal trainer who has appeared on E4’s Five Star Hotel, at the Dukes’ Palace hotel in Bruges, Belgium.
The pair hit the bottle and enjoyed a wild night out — before she sang “there’s no ring on my finger” as she stumbled back to their room late on.
She even posted online: “I’m finally so happy it’s my 40th birthday and a real gentleman has finally treated me how I deserve to be treated.”
But sources say her latest antics have raised eyebrows among friends. They fear she’s once again spiralling into the sort of cycle which made her notorious as her glamour model alter-ego Jordan.
Meanwhile, estranged husband Kieran Hayler stays at home caring for the kids.
One said: “It’s a familiar pattern. Kate splits from her man and goes out partying again, but people who know her are worried she’s going to damage what’s left of her career.
“One minute she’s off down to Brighton to meet Shane, the next she’s away in Belgium with Kris.
“Nobody quite knows what she’s trying to achieve. It’s like she’s just desperate to stay youthful but it’s becoming very embarrassing and also causing major rows back home.”
A few days earlier Katie and Kris were pictured hand-in-hand at a shopping centre in Kent, inset, and earlier this month she enjoyed a night out with him at a restaurant in Chigwell, Essex.
But the new fling has also upset Kieran, who friends say is gearing up for a bitter divorce fight after calling time on the rocky five-year marriage.
He plans to throw her hard-partying antics at her when the separation battle really fires up, with an insider explaining: “Kieran is livid.
“She has always been happy to paint him as the villain, and he’s bitten his tongue throughout, but her behaviour lately has put even more strain on their relationship.
“The divorce is likely to get very nasty.”
If it all plays out in court, somebody is likely to pay the Pricey.

Stones' royal urn-er
THERE was no danger of the Rolling Stones being the last men standing at Harry and Meghan’s wedding reception.
The now largely tee-total band did celebrate the couple’s special day – but their routine would have been better fitted to a kids’ birthday party.
At their No Filter tour in London on Tuesday, Mick Jagger explained what he and bandmates Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood got up to.
He said: “We threw a party on Saturday.
“Keith made the sandwiches and Charlie was on the tea urn. Ronnie was playing gypsy songs.”
Mick claimed they had spent time rehearsing with Sir Elton John, who did perform, adding: “We did learn a lot of duets with Elton for the Royal Wedding but we’re not going to do one of them.”
Prince Harry is a Stones fan – he watched them at Glastonbury in 2013 – so I’m surprised they weren’t at the ceremony.

Sigala's big guns
SIGALA has teamed up with A-list names, including Kylie Minogue, for new album Brighter Days.
He is hoping their track will become this year’s Love Island anthem following the success of his Ella Eyre collaboration on the ITV2 show last year.
Sigala, who will tour the UK in October, also worked with The Vamps, Flo Rida and Fuse ODG on the record, out in September.
He said: “I had to get a few tracks in there about love. The Kylie one will fit the Love Island vibe.”
They just need Kylie on the show to perform it – or to find love.
Singer's Ar-ri-ved
RIHANNA has once again slipped into the UK unnoticed, until she went out partying in an unusual denim skirt, that is.
She was photographed at 2am yesterday leaving Tape nightclub in central London's Mayfair.
Rihanna has been spending more time in the capital, as her billionaire boyfriend Hassan Jameel has a base there.
She will be back next month for the UK film premiere of Ocean's 8. With her skills at getting in and out of the country undetected, it's no wonder she got cast as a crook.
It's Orl out war
ORLANDO BLOOM, who starred in 2001 war film Black Hawk Down, is returning to the front line for his next movie The Outpost.
It is based on the true story of 50 US soldiers in Afghanistan in 2009 who fought 400 insurgents.
Orlando said: “Rod Lurie is directing. It’s a very interesting piece.”
Before that, he will shoot Carnival Row, a TV series for Amazon, with Cara Delevingne. I doubt girlfriend Katy Perry will appreciate the time apart.
