Coronation Street fans baffled by Pat Phelan kidnapping as they point out Gary and Joe should have just called the police instead of bring him back to Weatherfeld

In an explosive episode of the ITV soap, Gary Windass attacked Pat in his caravan after plotting revenge on the evil villain

CORONATION Street fans weren’t happy with how the dramatic return of evil Pat Phelan unfolded tonight.

Viewers watched as Gary Windass (Mikey North) set his kidnap plot into motion after attacking Pat (Connor McIntyre) in his caravan.

Despite Pat appearing to get the upper hand as he strangles Gary on the bed, Gary’s old army mate knocks him out cold by whacking him around the head.

But fans were left outraged that the pair then took him back to Weatherfield to hold him hostage instead of heading to the police station.

One fan said: “Why is Gary so stupid just CALL THE POLICE this whole plot is ridiculous #CoronationStreet.”

Another fan wrote: : “Why would Gary not hand him over to the police??!!! I already can’t cope with Corrie this week!! #CoronationStreet.”

Someone else said: “They locked him in room. Daft b***rs. just kill him #corrie #CoronationStreet.”

“Gary you b****y idiot! #CoronationStreet.”

Later Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien got suspicious when Gary wouldn’t let her into the garage’s basement.

When she forced her way in, she found Pat gagged and tied up.

Before the episode’s dramatic end, Sarah said: “Gary, what have you done?”

It was the first two installments in an explosive week for the ITV soap.
