DAN Edgar won’t be winning any popularity contests after the most explosive ever series of Towie saw him labelled a “cheating liar” by fans who were outraged by his love triangle with Clelia Theodorou and Amber Turner.
Since breaking up with the “love of his life” Kate Wright after six years together in 2016 – Dan has remained single and refused to commit to another woman.
His relationship with and split from Kate is seemingly still a sore point for Dan, who refuses to speak about his former flame or her relationship with Rio Ferdinand.
In the past his co-stars have claimed he’s not over it.
Lauren Pope, who enjoyed a brief fling with Dan last year, even admitted: “I'm sure he's got feelings there.”
But now Dan, 28, appears to be finally moving on with his life after reconciling with Amber in the series finale on Sunday – and insists their romance is the real deal.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online's Big Interview he explains: “We both realised we can't keep going round in circles and we've got to make our minds up.
“We both got bored of it and had to make a decision. It was all or nothing. But we’re very happy now.”
Although they’re now officially dating, over the course of the nine week series Dan couldn’t make up his mind up who he wanted to date and was accused of playing Amber and Clelia off against each other as he continued to swap between both women.
Fans blasted him as a “cheat” and a “love-rat” and said he was “lying through his teeth” when he denied bedding Amber after going on a date with Clelia.
He then became embroiled in an explosive feud with his co-star Jon Clark over the claims and to this day insists he’s not the liar he’s been made out to be.
Because of the rumours, his friendship with Jon is now completely over.
Dan insists: “I didn't sleep with Amber and I didn’t lie.”
“To this day Jon won’t tell me who told him that. No one knows where this story came from and it’s not true. Jon dug me out during this series and got involved in my business.
“I got to a point where I couldn’t do it anymore. Jon upset a few people in this series and I had it out with him.
“We've left it. We're not pals and I don't think we'll ever be pals. It's the way it is.”
Dating Clelia he now admits was a mistake after telling us he’d always had feelings for Amber.
He adds: “Luckily Clelia’s fine now.
“It wasn't great, we get on now but I knew it wasn't right. It was too intense. It wasn't the best situation and obviously I got a drink thrown in my face. But that's behind me now.”
The series came to an end on Sunday night with Dan describing it as “completely mentally draining”.
Over the past two months, the series has been marred by a number of nasty fights – with Myles Barnett even punching Dean Ralph during a nasty fight and Liam Gatsby and Pete Wicks squaring up to each other during a row in the street.

The extreme drama, which has never been seen before on such a level for the reality show, is all related to the sacking of seven prominent cast members back in January, says Dan.
Dan admits the cast felt threatened and pushed themselves forward for storylines – making the series more argumentative than ever.
He explains: “The cull put a lot more people on their toes.
“People upped their games and got involved in things they wouldn’t have done before. Everyone was hungrier for storylines.”
But will his romance with Amber last long enough to make some more explosive storylines for the next series? Watch this space.
