HELEN Flanagan has opened up about her upcoming exit from Coronation Street, where the soap crosses over with fellow ITV show This Morning and her character Rosie Webster lands a modelling job in Japan after a dramatic drugs bust.
The pregnant actress, who is now engaged to footballer Scott Sinclair, is going on maternity leave, and recently filmed some of her final scenes alongside This Morning's Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
Helen's Corrie character finds herself on the chat show's sofa after a scuffle with her ex-boyfriend during a fashion shoot.
Rosie winds up working alongside former flame Antoine, and realises he has planted drugs on one of the other models.
So Rosie foils the plan by swapping the cocaine with icing sugar and plants the real drugs on Antoine so he'll get caught at the airport. The events land Rosie an appearance on the hit ITV show.
After Rosie's appearance on This Morning, she's approached by a modelling agent - and she's offered a job in Japan, which she accepts.
Of the upcoming scenes, Helen told The Sun Online's Soap Bubble: “I enjoy doing comedy and it’s very typically Rosie.
"She finds out there’s a modelling job going at the factory, but when she gets there she sees her former boyfriend’s name on the call sheet.
“He’s an agent from LA who got her into a lot of trouble because he planted a lot of cocaine on her when she flew back to England. Anybody with any sense would run a mile, but Rosie decides she still wants to do the job.
“She susses out that Antoine has planted drugs with another model who is there on the shoot, so she swaps icing sugar for the cocaine to mess up the arrangement and plants the real drugs on Antoine, so he’ll get caught at the airport.
"He catches her in the act and she ends up in a bit of trouble.
“After what happens, This Morning call to say they want her on the show. It’s great. Everybody loves Holly and Phil and they’re really lovely, Holly especially.
“After the interview Rosie is approached by a modelling agent and offered a job in Japan working on a TV game show.
"It’s a great exit storyline, because it leaves it open for me to come back after maternity leave.”

Helen had been filming Corrie right up until she was eight months pregnant, and her baby - her second child with fiance Scott Sinclair - is due any day now.
And she admits it was difficult having to use various props to hide her bump while she filmed.
She says: “I’ve had lots of big pink handbags.
"I’ve been wearing a few more big coats and for some of my final scenes they bought me an extra-large floaty dress, which just falls and covers my bump.
"They’ve used different filming angles too.”
In scenes that'll air tonight, Rosie and and Gemma sneak into the house with bags of "icing sugar" and attempt to distract a suspicious Sally.
