Coronation Street stars ‘don’t know who Pat Phelan shot’ as storyline has been kept top secret from everyone on set

CORONATION Street’s dramatic Pat Phelan storyline is so secret that even the stars of the show don’t know who has been shot.

On last night’s show, viewers watched in horror as gunshots sounded at Eileen’s house – leading to fears that evil Pat Phelan had claimed his fifth victim.

But it wasn’t just fans of the show who were left in the dark about what will happen on tonight’s grande finale – Corrie actors were also unsure.

Taking to Twitter to comment on it, Jimmi Harkishin, who plays Dev on the soap, wrote:  “OMG !!!!! Who did pat shoot ? Can't bear the anticippppppppation ! 😱😱😱#Corrie @connor9mcintyre.”

While Bethany Platt actress Lucy Fallon, tweeted: “Mad that I don’t actually know who Phelan just shot.

“Or maybe someone shot him ?!!! I don’t actually know 🤦🏼‍♀️.”

Sally Ann Matthews, who stars as Jenny, told her:  “Bung is a fiver and I’ll blab x” (sic).

Debbie Rush added: “Wow @itvcorrie that was a surprise even for me! What's in store for 'Anna' tomorrow!🙈Thrilled our lovely #coronation street fans are on the edge of their seats!”

While Nicola Thorp, who is at the centre of the storyline, tweeted: “What a cliffhanger! #corrie bring on tomorrow.”

During last night’s episode serial killer builder Pat barged round to his wife Eileen's house to see his grandson.

It was the first time the pair came face to face since Eileen believed she had finished off the evil killer by pushing him off the pier.

But as Nicola declared she would defend her baby "until my last dying breath," Seb crept up behind Phelan and jumped on him.

After Eileen was knocked out in the scuffle, Gary, Sarah-Louise and the returning Anna Windass rushed over to try to stop the villain in his tracks.

But they were floored when a gunshot rang out in the last seconds of the episode, leaving fans to speculate whether Phelan had claimed yet another victim.

Coronation Street continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
