Kym Marsh would never let daughter Emilie go on Love Island because having sex on TV with random people is ’embarrassing’
KYM Marsh has said that there's "no way" she would allow her daughter to go on Love Island "in a million years."
The Corrie beauty deemed the idea of a parent allowing their child to have sex on TV as "bizarre."
Blasting the possibility of following in the footsteps of her fellow soap star Danny Dyer - who's daughter Dani is participating in this series - Kym took to her weekly column in to air her views.
The former Hear'Say singer said:"There’s no way I would give my consent for Emilie to do that. Not in a million
years.
"I find it all really odd. It’s bizarre that any parent would tell their child it’s OK to have sex with random people on TV."
She added: "And why would you even want to? It would be so embarrassing!"
The actress - who plays Michelle Connor on Coronation Street - has previously spoken out about how her 21-year-old lookalike daughter is her "best friend."
In a sweet birthday message last year, Kym tweeted:“Happy birthday to my beautiful @EmilieCunliffe you make me so proud every day.
“I love you with all of my heart. My best friend, my princess, my world.”
Fans were quick to comment on their similarity, one noted: "Beautiful pics, she's your mini me," whilst another commented: "I looked at her and thought it was u, she looks like u."
Kym had Emelie in 1997 with ex David Cunliffe, who is also dad to her son David, born in 1995.
She went on to have a daughter, Polly, with Hollyoaks actor-turned-I'm A Celebrity star Jamie Lomas, now six.
The couple also had a son, Archie, who died moments after birth in 2010 after he was born 18 weeks early.
Recently the actress has been grappling with some big storylines on the Cobbles.
It's not all been plain-sailing for Kym's character Michelle as gunshots rung at her wedding to Robert Preston.
Michelle Connor looked set to become Pat Phelan's fifth victim when he shot her on her wedding day.
Her husband-to-be Rob, played by Tristan Gemmill, attempted to protect her but she was shot in the stomach in the back of the Bistro.
The shocking scenes aired on Friday (June 1) but were so gory they had to be aired after 9pm.
Fortunately, the actress revealed that Michelle will pull through as she's just signed a new year-long contract with the show.
Although Kym did tease fans in an appearance on This Morning when she confessed her statement on having a new contract could have been a "red herring."
The actress remained coy, saying: "Well there's been reports that it was renewed."
Before suggestively adding: "But is it a red herring? Just saying!"
