LOVE Island fans were left cringing when no girls stepped forward to couple up with Dr Alex George.
The A&E doc looked embarrassed to be left standing on his own beside host Caroline Flack on tonight’s premiere.
The presenter laughed awkwardly after none of the girls said they fancied him.
One fan tweeted: “Feel for Alex, Like he doesn’t know where he is. It’s like he lost a bet with his mates and the forfeit was to apply for Love Island.”
Another wrote: “Alex is being so mugged off. So out of his depth.”
A third added: “Who else feels sorry for Alex?”
Dr Alex said he’s been single for three years
Air hostess Laura Anderson said she usually opted for someone “darker.”
She told Alex: “I feel so bad – I usually prefer darker – can you grow a beard?”
Alex eagerly said he could, replying: “AÂ little bit – maybe a goatee or something – I can work on it.”
Model Hayley Hughes from Liverpool was even blunter, telling Alex he needed to work on his tan.
Caroline tried to ease the situation, asking Alex if he “goes a nice brown.”
Alex replied: “Yes, I can get a nice tan.”
Hayley responded: “Well I’ll see you maybe in a few weeks then.”

However, Alex did get to choose a lady, and selected Laura.
But he was ditched moments afterwards when Wes Nelson came in and swiped her from under his nose.
Left on the “subs bench”, Alex was left until last where he ended up with the other singleton Samira Mighty.
Meanwhile Love Island fans went into meltdown at the show’s return and swooned at the surprise addition of hunky personal trainer Adam Collard.
