NIALL Aslam has quit Love Island for "personal reasons".

Fellow Islander, Dr Alex George announced to the others that the Harry Potter fan had left the villa and would not be returning.

Speaking on Tuesday's show, the doctor said: "For personal reasons unfortunately he can’t continue or come back to the villa."

Following his departure, his partner Georgia said in the Beach House: “Obviously I was coupled up with him so obviously I came closer to him than most people in here but it wasn’t just that. He was actually my friend, my buddy.”

Alex added:  “I’m obviously sad that Niall’s left the villa. We got on really, really well.

"He’s such a great guy. And I look forward to catching up with him and having some fun with him outside.”

The 23-year-old, from Coventry, first coupled up with Kendall Rae-Knight but was left devastated when she was stolen by Adam Collard.

But Niall, who has a tattoo of Hermione Granger's wand, bounced back by hooking up with Georgia Steel on their first date.

Kendall ended up getting ditched from the show when Adam dumped her in favour of newcomer Rosie Williams.

Georgia was left fuming when newbie Megan Barton Hanson decided to take Niall out on a date after arriving in the villa on Sunday evening.

The glamour model has made no secret of her feelings for Niall before she entered the villa, saying about her ideal man: "Dark and tanned looks wise but I’m definitely more about personality...

"I like Niall and Eyal. Niall is perfection – I have a thing for mouths and he has such a good mouth."

Niall was hugely popular with viewers who thought he had the potential to go all the way like Chris Hughes last year.

Fans picked up on the similarity in their voices and noticed that he compared himself to a rainbow fish - after Chris had compared himself to a polar bear.

Prior to joining the ITV show, Niall said: “I am going in there and I want to find love.

"I don’t care who a lad is if he is big, better looking, I’m still going in there and I’ll still rock up and try and chat up his missus.”
