Coronation Street’s Sair Khan reveals she was left ‘scared and shaking’ after vicious fight scenes with co-star Alison King
The actress found the battle harrowing to film which came about after her character got into the Underworld factory and changed the locks
SAIR Khan’s Coronation Street fight scenes with co-star Alison King left her physically shaking.
During Wednesday night’s episode of the ITV serial, soap star Sair’s character Alya Nazir swooped in and took over the Underworld factory on the day of Aiden’s (Shayne Ward) funeral.
Carla, played by Alison, was left furious when she found out the locks to the building had been changed and the pair ended up in a huge argument.
On filming the stressful scenes, Sair said: “Doing any scenes with Ali King is amazing – she is just brilliant.
“They were scary, I’m not going to lie! My adrenaline was at an all-time high – I was shaking after the scenes and it took me a while to calm down. It’s Alya taking on the Connors, which was quite scary.”
The scenes prompted a debate amongst Corrie fans on social media over who would be best to run the factory.

But Sair is insistent the character is in the right when it comes to forcing her way into the business premises.
She said: “This is four years in the making. When Alya came in, she was super ambitious and she still has all of that passion.
“It may have just been dampened by all of the deaths in her life, which have really shaped the person she has become. It has been hard for her, but her mind is back on track due to this opportunity.
“Alya is definitely capable and very intelligent. She was running this business with Aidan. She is trying to do the right thing, which is to grow the business.”
And Sair says she gets defensive over her character when people say she is in the wrong.
She explained: “As an actor, you have to put yourself in your character’s shoes and justify your actions which can sometimes be questionable. You really have to think back through the character’s journey to work out how they have got here.
“I don’t think anyone really wakes up in the morning and thinks, ‘I’m just going to be a b**ch.’ I am defensive over it as Alya really hasn’t had it easy.”
