The missing schoolgirl finally turned up last night but far from being locked up in a dingy basement as many people feared, she instead appeared to be perfectly happy
EMMERDALE has revealed Amelia Spencer's kidnapper but viewers have been left confused over who she is.
In last night's episode Amelia was finally revealed to be fine living in a flat with a young woman called Beth but the brief scene showing her happily asking for some crisps from her kidnapper had fans perplexed about what was happening.
Teenager Amelia disappeared earlier this month after discovering that her uncle Daz was actually her biological uncle, but when she failed to return it appeared that she had been kidnapped.
And while fans had shared a variety of theories, no-one had expected her to just turn up happily living with a never before seen woman.
They flocked to social media to share their confusion and find answers.
One tweeted: "Who is Beth?" adding: "Yes thanks but who is she? A friend? Relative?"
A second wrote: "I’m rather confused now who the hell is Beth who’s ‘abducted’ Amelia...?"
Another added: "Who the heck is Beth in Emmerdale?"
However, fans had an intriguing theory because of how happy Amelia was - that Dan Spencer was behind her living in the flat and was framing his brother Daz.
They are convinced Dan took her and is setting up Daz to get him out of the way.
One viewer tweeted: "It's Dan though isn't it, trying to frame Daz. #Emmerdale."
A second added: "Anyone else think it’s Dan all along and he’s doing everything he can to frame Daz #Emmerdale."
A third joked: "Dan is a bit too keen to blame Daz. He knows where Amelia is. She’s gone to Russia to watch England in the World Cup! #Emmerdale."
