Johnny Depp boasts about spending over £22,000 a month on wine after split with Amber Heard left him ‘depressed’ in bombshell interview
JOHNNY Depp has admitted he spent over £22,000 a month on wine after his split from Amber Heard left him feeling depressed.
The actor, 55, opened up in a jaw-dropping new interview about how his divorce from the Hollywood actress, 32, in 2016 affected his mental health and drove him to hit the bottle.
Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine in London earlier this year over a three-day period, the star recalled the moment he hit rock bottom in 2016 when his marriage collapsed.
He said: "I was as low as I believe I could have gotten.
"The next step was, 'You're going to arrive somewhere with your eyes open and you're going to leave there with your eyes closed.'
"I couldn't take the pain every day."
The Hollywood star admitted that his family members had been against him wedding Amber without a prenuptial agreement.
Johnny cut ties with them, as well as long-term managers and friends, and claims to have spent the last two years alone apart from his lawyers and security.
He also explained how his £452million fortune had almost gone, and accused his former management company - with whom he is in an ongoing lawsuit with - for frittering away his funds.
Pretending to sign a piece of paper while looking in the other direction, the movie favourite explained: "If there were things for me to sign that would come in – and there would be occasionally – I would sign them like this.
"I don't want to f******g see what they are because I trust these people. Now I look right at everything I sign."
Responding to claims he spent £22,000 a month on wine, he replied: "It's insulting to say that I spent $30,000 on wine because it was far more."
The bombshell interview comes after he took to the stage at London's Wembley Arena last night.
Fans of the actor were worried earlier this month when he was pictured looking pale and gaunt as he posed with admirers in Russia.

Many speculated his appearance was connected to a film role, while others feared he had fallen ill.
However a source close to the star told The Sun Online his followers didn't need to be worried and that Johnny was in good health.
Appearing on stage at Wembley Arena last night with his band Hollywood Vampires, Johnny looked back to his old self.
