Emmerdale spoilers: Hannah Barton’s return as Matty revealed as Cain Dingle knocks him out

MATTY Barton's return to Emmerdale has been revealed as he is knocked out by step-father Cain Dingle.

The student - who is now played by actor Ash Palmisciano in the ITV soap - left the village as Hannah and has made a variety of excuses why he hasn't returned since.

But now when he lets himself into his mum's home to gather some of his personal belongings, he will be caught by a raging Cain.

Not realising how the mystery man is, Cain will jump to conclusions and think he was sent by drug dealer Simon.

His mum Moira is going to be stunned when she discovers Matty is back and worst of all for her, has been in Manchester the whole time.

Matty’s shock reveal follows a shadowy figure loitering around Butlers Farm and watching an unaware Moira.

Meanwhile Moira is horrified when Cain Dingle, played by Jeff Hordley in the ITV soap, tells her that Simon McManus is back in the village but promises to get rid of him.

Back at Butlers, the stranger forces their way into the house with a crowbar and then hides while an oblivious Faith and Kyle go about their business.

When they head out he begins rifling through Moira’s drawers, clearly looking for something.

Cain makes an unexpected return to the house and confronts the stranger, and thinking the farm is being robbed, knocks him out cold.

When the intruder comes round he reveals his name is Matty and seems to know Cain but Cain is clueless.

He’s even more confused when he discovers that the stranger has been trying to steal Moira’s youngest daughter Hannah’s birth certificate.

When Moira arrives she knows who Matty played by Ash Palmisciano, is right away, he is Hannah.

Matty tells a baffled Moira that he’s no longer Hannah and has been living as a man for the past few years.

As Moira struggles to comprehend, she’s soon hurt to learn that Matty only came back for the birth certificate and his been living down the road in Manchester, not London as Moira thought.

So will Moira be able to accept Matty as her son? Or will his mum’s reaction drive him back away from the factory again?
