ED Sheeran is being sued for £76million by a firm claiming he ripped off his No1 hit Thinking Out Loud from soul legend Marvin Gaye.
The singer, 27, is on the receiving end of a lawsuit from Structured Asset Sales over allegations the song is a copy of Marvin's Let’s Get It On.
The 1973 song was penned by a songwriter called Edward Townsend, whose one third copyright was bought by the firm in 2003 when he died.
They claim the third of the song is worth £76million.
Thinking Out Loud featured on Ed’s 2014 album X, which sold more than 15million copies.
He previously dismissed a lawsuit from the songwriter’s heirs over claims of similarities between the songs.
