STACEY Solomon has admitted she regrets getting her son circumcised when he was a baby.

The Loose Women star opened up on the show today when the panel argued over whether it was right or wrong to pierce a baby's ears and cause them pain.

Stacey is Jewish and has two sons, Zachary, aged 10, and Leighton, six, and she told the panel: "I had my son circumcised.

"I had this exact discussion with everyone who thought there was something wrong with it. But it was part of my culture, something I was told is better for the child, cleaner.

"As I got older my cultural views doesn't make it any different to what it actually is. I started feeling guilty about what I had done and there is nothing I can do now.

"But it is really funny how we can excuse things for cultural reasons."

Nadia Sawalha and Jane Moore then locked horns over piercing a baby's ears.

And Stacey reasoned: "My mum got my ears pierced when I was a baby.

"I was glad because it meant I didn't have to get it done as an adult. But when you're that young you don't have a choice.

"It is a fashion but people aren't doing it because they're thinking they're going to hurt their child. It's because it looks nice."

Viewers praised Joe Swash's girlfriend for her "sensible" response on the controversial subjects.

One fan wrote on Twitter: "Loved @StaceySolomon response and incredibly sensible take on this subject. Stacey, you always make very valid points that are well articulated."

Other fans agreed with the star when the panel chatted about Labour MP Danielle Rowley - who was the first ever woman to talk about her period in the House of Commons yesterday.

Stacey argued that having a period is a fair excuse to be late for work.

She told the panel: "How is it different to if someone crashed into the back of your car on the way to work and you're late, to 'I've come on my period and had to run back to change?' Why can't I say that if it is true?"

One fan said on Twitter: "Yes Periods should be used as an excuse. Count yourself lucky if you've never had very heavy periods !!! Women need to speak more about PERIODS .."

Another commented: "yes @StaceySolomon with you 100% Xx #LooseWomen"
