Tyla made it to Day 44 on last year's series after being partnered with "Muggy" Mike Thalassitis - but she's revealed the dumping process was the hardest part of the experience.

Tyla continued: "I had a breakdown and was crying my eyes out before I was allowed to call my mum.

"I had to do about 20 press interviews and had to hear all of the horrible things that had been said about me. I told some of the Love Island team I couldn't do it unless I had some comforting words from my mum - I needed her to calm me down. They didn't understand."

The 25-year-old explained: "When you are in the villa, there's a psychologist who watched you all of the time and would intervene if she felt it was necessary. But really help is only there for you when you get out if you ask for it. Not everyone wants to ask for help."

Tyla went on to suggest that "counselling sessions afterwards should be made mandatory."

She said: “Online bullying is as destructive as face-to-face bullying, sometimes worse.

"Trolls leave you feeling vulnerable, unsafe and upset.”
