Coronation Street spoilers: Sally Metcalfe horrified as the police are called when the £40k charity money disappears

She’s taken in by fraudster Duncan Radfield who spins her a yarn about his stroke charity

SALLY Metcalfe finds herself on the wrong side of the law in Coronation next week when the council head of finance is forced to call them in after £40k of charity money goes missing.

At the hospital, Duncan Radfield – Rosie Webster’s model mate Olivia’s dad who is trying to get his hands on a grant from the council for a charity in his late wife’s memory – tries to help Tim and Sally by talking to someone about Jack Webster.

A consultant reveals the little lad has ischaemia and needs his foot amputated before it spreads any further.

But Duncan, former Waterloo Road star Richard Gleaves, is annoyed when he hears Sally, played by Sally Dynevor in the ITV soap, telling Tim that she’s going to hand the charity grant job over to a colleague. Duncan tries to persuade her to change her mind.

Meanwhile Tim tells Sally that he doesn’t trust Duncan and to be wary of handing the charity grant over to him.

Sally, though, is adamant that Duncan is a good guy and after hearing him talk about his wife, who he lost to a stroke, she makes a decision about the money.

Later, Tim is suspicious when Duncan arrives at number 4 with a bouquet of flowers for Sally.

Duncan is delighted when Sally tells him his charity fund request has been accepted. Anyone else smelling a rat here?

Tim’s suspicions are piqued even more when Duncan asks Sally if she can pull some strings and fast-track some of the money as he’s found a good deal on some equipment for the hospital.

Tim tells Steve that he doesn’t trust Duncan as far as he could throw him and Steve agrees they should check him out.

They head to the office and are taken aback to find the place completely empty. Looks like Tim’s suspicions were right.

Sally is horrified to discover that the £40k she gave to Duncan has disappeared – along with Duncan.

The council’s Head of Finance Jeanette arrives and tells Sally she has no option but to call the police.

Tim points out that Jeanette is also to blame as she approved the finance transfer, but is Sally on the verge of losing everything?
