EastEnders’ Carmel Kazemi is ‘forever broken’ over her son Shakil’s murder and is going to be pushed to the edge reveals Bonnie Langford
The Sun Online's weekly soap column brings you exclusive interviews, the biggest soap news and all the spoilers you could need
BONNIE Langford has revealed Carmel Kazemi is going to forever broken after the murder of her son Shakil in EastEnders.
Shakil will be laid to rest tomorrow night in a special episode of the soap that will feature real-life people telling their stories of knife crime.
Actress Bonnie told The Sun Online's Soap Bubble that usually positive Carmel will never be able to go back to how she was after her ordeal and that the old Carmel died with Shakil.
She said: "Carmel will never be the same again, you can't be.
"I think she wants to be positive, she tries every way to make sense. This is half the thing, even if something happens to somebody you've got to try and make sense of it and this seems completely senseless.
"And I think she strives to see the positive in anything but how can you see anything positive about this."
"The idea was to re-introduce Mel to fans who remembered her but also allow those who didn’t watch during her era get to know her and get a feel for who she is and how she operates.
"Now that Mel is settled after overcoming her initial challenges and has secured a job and built a relationship with Jack, it’s time to weave in her first major storyline since her return. And it is a big one – she really shouldn’t trust Ray and he will make his presence felt immediately after arriving."
Carl Costello is making a Hollyoaks comeback
CARL Costello is making a sensational comeback to Hollyoaks after five years.
Actor Paul Opacic is returning to the show to reprise the role as Carl arrives back in the village determined to find Mercedes McQueen after she snatches her son Bobby from him in America.
He will hunt her to the village determined to get his grandson back.
But with only Cleo knowing where Bobby is, Carl takes to television to appeal for the return of Bobby, putting the family in an impossible position.
Rovers Return's new landlord revealed in Coronation Street
The Barlows have ruled the roost since day dot on Coronation Street but ITV bosses want a new family dynasty to start taking over — the Connors.
And to get them on their way the leader of the clan, Johnny Connor, will become the new landlord of the Rovers Return.
I’m told Johnny will buy the famous soap pub for emotional reasons, as it was the last place he saw son Aidan, played by Shayne Ward, before he killed himself.
A Cobbles source said: “Coronation Street bosses are really trying to big up the Connors as the new family on the block, and want them to be as big as the Barlows.
“There are big plans for them in terms of storylines, and first up is taking over the pub.
“It was the last place he saw Aidan before he went home to kill himself, so when he hears it’s up for grabs he swoops in and takes control.”
