Coronation Street’s Jack P Shepherd posts brilliant response to being discovered unconscious in a lift after celebrating England win
CORONATION Street's Jack P Shepherd has shared an hilarious response to being found passed out in a lift by a fan, after celebrating England's World Cup game against Colombia.
Poking fun at the situation, Jack, 30, shared the snap of him slumped on the floor with the caption: "I was texting Gareth saying... It's Coming Home"
The star referencing England manager Gareth Southgate and the famous footy song by Baddiel and Skinner.
A soap fan was left shocked on Tuesday when she found Jack, who plays David Platt in the soap, passed out in her lift at midnight.
The waitress was on her way up to her boyfriend's flat in Manchester just after midnight when the lift doors opened to reveal Jack asleep on the floor inside.
Jack, who was wearing an England shirt, appeared to be enjoying a cheeky kip after a few too many, but managed to hold onto his phone and a bottle opener.
A pal said: "She found it too awkward to wake him up.
"She just went to get in the lift and Jack was passed out on the floor."
She took the picture before getting into the lift herself and climbing over him to get to her floor while the actor continued to snooze - before getting out and sending him back down again.
The pal added: "He'd clearly had too much to drink and enjoyed himself after the football."
Jack posted videos on his Instagram account on the Tuesday showing his celebration of England's victory over Colombia.
It's not known why he was in the building, as he lives with co-star Colson Smith and Ackley Bridge actor Freddie Bolt.
Recently neighbours of the three actors complained after loud parties were held with singing and shouting.
The actor has had a busy year on the cobbles with his character David being thrust to the forefront of the ITV soap in a high-profile storyline that saw him drugged and raped by Josh Tucker.
His performance in the storyline won him the best actor gong at the British Soap Awards earlier this year.
He has also been loved-up, enjoying a new relationship with girlfriend Hanni Treweek, who also works on the soap.
They pair share gushing selfies and have enjoyed numerous champagne-fuelled nights out together which they document on social media.
The actor, who is paid £200,000 to play Platt, split from long-term fiancée Lauren Shippey a year ago.
Jack and Lauren got together aged 14 and share two children together.
Lauren threw him out in 2011 when a DNA test revealed he was dad to a baby boy after a one-night stand with sales executive Sammy Milewski.

But Jack successfully begged her to take him back. He later gave her a £3,000 engagement ring.
At the time a friend said: “Lauren understands Jack made a terrible mistake. Now he has made the ultimate statement that he wants to be with her for the rest of his life.”
Jack later found love with Hanni and the pair have been in a high-profile relationship since.
He's been posting snaps of the romantic dinners, holidays and champagne-drinking sessions the pair have been having onto his social media.
The actor's so happy that the Corrie cast have even taken to gently mocking him for how loved-up they are.
