Love Island cooking secrets of the villa and why you never see the cast make main meals or sit down for dinner together
AMBER Davies has lifted the lid on what happens behind the scenes on Love Island when it’s time for the Islanders to eat.
While we occasionally see the cast eating during tasks – like this week’s very awkward date night – or snacking (remember Alex Miller’s furious munching of a biscuit while Megan spoke to Wes) – we never actually see them cooking meals.
And last year's winner Amber says it’s because they get everything cooked for them – and the Islanders get to choose off a menu.
“You get to eat a selection of food and it’s lovely food. You do get to choose what to eat, and it all comes in separate containers."
Last night, new Jack revealed he was very allergic to all nuts, and Amber says they are careful about Islanders allergies.
“Montana was really allergic to nuts and we had to keep some dishes well away from the kitchen. But they could cater to everything - some people are lactose or gluten intolerant.”
Talking about the fact that this year’s villa is infested with rats and insects, Amber says it wasn’t the same year – but they did have to do their own washing up.
She said: “I don't remember seeing a rat, and I would remember seeing a rat because I'm a baby.
“But there are wasps everywhere because when they bring lunch out all the wasps would just go straight to the chicken.
"We were eating chicken and wasps for dinner, but you can't help that.
“The villa got cleaned twice or once a week - but everything's dead clean. You do have to wash up sometimes, which we would do on a couples rota.
“The only thing that was a mess was all of the girls' clothes, shoes and make-up everywhere!”
