CAROLINE Flack's ex Andrew Brady says he's "ashamed" he met with Celebs Go Dating a day after their split and admits he needs the money.
The former star of The Apprentice made a grovelling admission about why he took a meeting with producers 24 hours after ending his engagement.
The Sun revealed that Caroline, 38, was left devastated after The Apprentice star had talks with producers of reality show hours after their break-up was confirmed.
Andrew, 27, has now explained why he was chasing a role on the show - and admitted he's strapped for cash.
In a statement posted on Twitter, he wrote: "Yes I had a meeting [with] Celebs Go Dating after Caroline and I had separated.
"However. this was wrong.
"When someone has no money and nothing to lose they tend to do crazy irrational things.
"I am ashamed and trying to move on with my life."
After shooting to fame on The Apprentice in 2017, he has attempted to carve out a career as a reality TV star.
He appeared on Celebrity Big Brother house in January, but has not landed any big jobs since.
An previously insider told The Sun Online that Andrew had actualy spoken to bosses of Celebs Go Dating about an appearance while he was still in a relationship with Love Island host Caroline.
The source said: "Andrew approached the show while he was still with Caroline and set up a meeting with producers just one day after their split.
"Caroline was devastated when she found out her fiance was secretly planning to try and get on one of the biggest and most watched celebrity dating shows on TV."
Stars including Gemma Collins, Charlotte Crosby, Ferne McCann and Stephen Bear have all previously taken part.
It's the latest blow to Caroline since the couple broke off their "toxic relationship".
The insider added: "It's like Andrew's seen how successful other celebs have been after appearing on the show and wanted that fame for himself.
"He's not signed up yet but he's in talks."
On Tuesday The Sun exclusively reported how Caroline had ended her engagement to Andrew over claims he is full of lies.
After Andrew confirmed the split on social media, a source close to the Love Island host said: "Caroline is so sad about what has happened.
"She’s disappointed that Andrew has decided to make this public at this stage. She had hoped to deal with this privately.
"At this point she feels like he has used her so much, and that he’s full of lies."
In a statement released to The Sun, Caroline confirmed: “I’m sad to announce that Andrew and I have decided to part ways. Unfortunately it was not to be.
"I wish him all the best. At least there’s a Villa waiting for me. It’s back to the ol’ grafting.”
