Roxanne Pallett airlifted to hospital after blacking out in horror stock car crash
ROXANNE Pallett is lucky to be alive after crashing into a concrete wall at high speed during a stock car race.
The actress, 35, blacked out for 30 seconds following the horror collision yesterday at Hunmanby Raceway near Scarborough, Yorks.
Firefighters took two hours to cut her from the wreckage, before she was airlifted 41miles to Hull Royal Infirmary.
The former Emmerdale star is still awaiting the results of a CT scan and has suffered severe bruising and two sprained wrists.
Roxanne had been racing Ben Fry, her Minster FM breakfast show co-host, to promote the Outlaw Gold Top Shootout event on August 11.
A source told The Sun Online: "She tried to overtake Ben on a bend and was travelling too fast and smashed into the concrete wall on the track.
"She lost consciousness for about 30 seconds on impact. Fortunately she was wearing a helmet and race gear."
The source added that Roxanne was loaded onto the air ambulance on a back board and is on morphine to help with the pain.
Video footage of the aftermath of the crash shows a green helicopter taking off from the middle of the raceway, while two fire engines, a police van and white Mercedes are parked on the track.
The shock smash comes just a day after sexy new pics of Roxanne were released from her new horror film, Habit.
The film, which is released on DVD next week, is imilar to Quentin Tarantino's classic From Dusk till Dawn.
Roxanne's character Alex works at a brothel which is a cover for flesh-eating killers.
A doorman called Michael, played by Elliot Langdridge, discovers the horrifying events that are taking place.
