Hollywood actress and Scientologist Kirstie Alley to star on Celebrity Big Brother in biggest signing yet
HOLLYWOOD star and Scientologist Kirstie Alley has signed up for Celebrity Big Brother.
The Sun Online can reveal the 67-year-old – famous for her roles in Star Trek and Cheers – will enter the house on August 17 when the next series starts.
Kirstie will be joining former Towie star Dan Osborne, Love Island’s Gabby Allen and Donald Trump porn star Stormy Daniels on the show.
A source told The Sun Online: “Kirstie is the biggest name to sign on the dotted line so far for this year’s show.
“She’s a Hollywood legend and has plenty of juicy stories to tell.
With the theme of retribution and stars talking about their own publicity storms – Kirstie couldn’t be better suited.”
Kirstie regularly hits the headlines in the US and most recently spoke out about her yo-yo dieting that saw her on the cover of a number of magazines.
She later lost 50lbs and said “I'm a very spontaneous person, and that's how I got fat.
“The main thing I realized about myself is I really need to be held accountable for things, because I have a tendency to go sort of wild. Food is one of things where I can go sort of wild.”
Kirstie also came under fire last year for claiming the Las Vegas shooting was linked to “psychiatric medication”.

The fact she also follows the controversial church of Scientology has also seen Kirstie under the spotlight.
In March this year, Kirstie is reported to have reached a higher level in the organisation known as “Operating Thetan Level Eight”.

A report, said to have been published in a Scientology magazine, claimed Kirstie was allowed to go on a cruise ship called the Freewinds.
The vessel is said to sail the Caribbean and is the only place individuals like Kirstie can “reach the ultimate step to the bridge of freedom”.
Kirstie isn't the first Scientologist to appear on the programme, with Stacy Francis, who starred on the show last year, also a member of the group.
