Stephen Belafonte has threatened to sue ex-wife Mel B if she makes claims about their marriage in her book

IN court, MEL B and her ex-husband Stephen Belafonte have made a string of outrageous and damning claims about each other.

But the Los Angeles restaurateur is confident the Spice Girl will not be able to reveal the horrors of their marriage in the tell-all book she is currently working on despite their court rows.

I bumped into Stephen chatting up a beautiful woman at a trendy Hollywood hotel this week, where he had a wager for me.

He said: “I’ll bet you a billion dollars I am not mentioned in her book.

“In the family court here, you can say anything. I could say someone was a molester.

“But if she were to write something in that book it’s a different story. I won’t be in that book. I think what she’s done is dumb. It’s dumb for her brand.”

When I asked him if he would sue if Mel makes negative claims, he nodded vigorously.

However, sources close to Mel insisted she is including Stephen in the autobiography and will talk about the darkest points of their marriage.

On that note, Stephen warned he has a very different version of events to Mel about how she ended up in hospital covered in bruises instead of judging on the X Factor final back in 2014.

Mel posted a near-nude picture this week celebrating her freedom from Stephen – but he is adamant he hasn’t seen it.

He said: “I don’t look at what she does.

"We have no contact. I’ve had big-money offers to tell my story. But I’m sitting back.”
