STACEY Solomon insists new X Factor judge Ayda Field will be a hit with fans, despite some critics claiming she lacks experience.

The Loose Women star, 28, has worked alongside Ayda, 39, on the daytime TV panel and says it doesn't matter that she doesn't have a recording background.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online, she said: "I know she's getting a lot of stick because she's not a singer or hasn't had a record, but I honestly think people will be pleasantly surprised by Ayda.

"She's passionate about the industry. She'd love to change somebody's life and give them the opportunities Robbie had and mentor them and bring them up. I think she'll keep Robbie on his toes.

"Ayda is so funny and brilliant and witty, I think she'll do a great job. "

Stacey has teamed up with Groupon for its Summer Unfiltered campaign, encouraging parents to show the realities of the summer holidays on social media.

Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda Field arrive ahead of X Factor press conference announcing series line-up with Simon Cowell and Louis Tomlinson

She's known for her realistic attitude towards body image and is regularly praised for her candid social media posts.

The TV personality told us how her own boys Zachary, 10, and Leighton, six, are affected by the normalisation of unrealistic body image.

"It starts from a really young age," she explained.

"All the toys they play with have six packs, and my eldest was like 'when's my six pack going to grow mummy?'

"I'm like 'it doesn't just appear one day,' that's all they see. They're conditioned from a real young age to what the best looks like. That definitely worries me."

Stacey thinks shows like Love Island could benefit from having more body diversity, rather than the endless supply of washboard abs and ripped torsos.

She said: "I really enjoy the show but you have to take it for what it is. It's a fantasy world. That isn't an honest display.

"I think it would make the show a bit better actually [if there were more normal bodies]."

Stacey Solomon reveals she regrets getting her son circumcised as a baby and putting him through pain

When it comes to her own appearance Stacey said her sister used to call her Shallow Hal, after Gwyneth Paltrow's character in the hit comedy because 'I just think I'm really beautiful' [laughs].

She's been offered Botox treatment, but there's little chance of her taking it up.

"I don't want Botox," she said. "I like to be able to move my face and have expressions.

"I know I'm going to get wrinkly before everyone else. I want to age. I hope I age. I hope I get old."
