BOOTED Love Island star Laura Crane has hit back at claims she cried crocodile tears and insisted her feelings for Jack Fowler are real.
She and the hunk exited the villa tonight following a public vote and told the Sun’s Bizarre column she was embarrassed for breaking down on TV.
Surfer Laura, 23, was accused of fake crying after the lie detector test and a public survey put doubt on their relationship.
She said: “For me there were a lot of things in there that I pushed under the carpet for a long time so they definitely weren't crocodile tears and I was really embarrassed to be crying on TV because I didn't want to come across like that. I definitely wasn't performing any tears because that's not what I wanted. All of the feelings I had in there were definitely real.
“Prior to the villa I kind of had been suppressing feelings and pushed them to the side. But being in there really helped me to be truthful with myself so it was a learning curve for me to be more honest with myself and things like that. It was really positive me being there.
“Like any girl you've got insecurities because of Instagram and those sort of things so you go in there and try push them to side and I've always sat on them. I see myself as quite a strong girl. But I feel stronger than I ever have. I'm really thankful for Jack.”
Laura and semi-professional footballer Jack, 22, left the villa coupled-up after he dropped Laura Anderson for her last week.
A picture emerged on social media of what seemed to be the pair working out together with accusations made about them knowing each other before entering the show.
But Jack and Laura both denied this is the case.
He said: “I had no idea Laura existed until she walked through that door.
“That picture, I remember taking for work and it's funny because when I think back to it there are some similarities in the girl next to me. But we definitely didn't know each other. No way.”
Jack praised their relationship and told the Sun he is ready to take the next step and ask her to be his girlfriend.
He said: “The whole experience in the villa made me much more happy.
“The way it's going with Laura is very, very good and I really want to take it up that level and it would be nice to go along that road and end up in a relationship.
“There's no real pressure for me to do it and we're doing our thing and I think we'll get there.
And he addressed the infamous kiss with Georgia Steel saying he was pleased the truth came out after she admitted to doing the deed.
He also slapped down any accusations that producers made them film the scene a second time.
Jack said: “When the kiss happened I knew there was going to be controversy but I also knew the truth. And when I was telling the story to the other islanders in the villa I knew that the vast majority believed me. I knew the truth will always come out so I'm very happy that it has.
“She may have been confused with the whole kissing situation and she might have thought something different but I remember what happened and I'm happy it's come out.
“The kiss itself was absolutely genuine. It's not fake, it's not set up, it's all live. It's a TV show so they're going to have different cameras at different angles to make sure they've got the perfect picture for the right moment so it was a genuine kiss, it did only happen once.”
