X Factor judge Louis Tomlinson’s girlband break up before releasing a single song together
WE’RE excited to see what Louis Tomlinson brings to the X Factor panel – especially because he’s been working hard signing acts to his own label for the past two years.
However, we’ve discovered his flagship project – a highly touted rock girlband – have disbanded without ever releasing a single.
Louis was offered his own imprint on Simon Cowell’s Syco label in 2015 “off the back” of his girlband concept. Simon even hailed the four teen musicians a “phenomenon”.
In a 2016 interview Simon compared them to The Bangles, saying “they are fantastic” and praising the 1D star’s musical instincts (he did back chart-toppers 5SOS, after all).
But a source revealed: “The band have split after a number of years together. Some of the girls are working on solo music now although all remain close to Louis. He knows not every project works out but he will be disappointed.”
Louis had said he was “super invested” in the group, his “first major project”, adding: “There’s nothing cooler than seeing a girl with an instrument.” Perhaps Louis will be on the lookout for the next Paramore during X Factor auditions ...
Strictly Karen upsets Kev
THE latest Strictly relationship drama has already begun to unfold – more than a month before the BBC1 dance show returns to our screens.
Once-friendly relations between former husband and wife pro dancers Karen and Kevin Clifton, who split last year, have ended as we can reveal Karen is now dating opera singer David Webb.
A source said: “Tensions remain high between Karen and Kevin – they are barely speaking and will be kept apart during Strictly.
“Her moving on with David has been tough on Kevin.
“They met through telly presenter Matt Johnson and, although Karen took things slowly and tried to not rub Kevin’s nose in her new relationship, it has been awkward for all involved.”
The dancers’ three-year marriage hit the headlines last year when it fell apart at the same time Kevin’s 2016 dance partner Louise Redknapp left her former footballer husband Jamie.
If Kevin is still single come September, let’s hope Strictly producers pair him with a celebrity who’s “just his type”.
With the amount of hook-ups and break-ups that feature on the ballroom contest, it’s practically Love Island with added salsa.
Take a chance on Lily
IF she wasn’t a superstar already, Lily James certainly is one now after her amazing turn in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.
The actress sings on most of the ABBA classics that feature in the film and band members Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Anderson, who composed the movie’s soundtrack, have backed her to scoop an album deal.
Benny said: “She is phenomenal, her singing is so emotional. If she wanted to go down that (music) route, she’d be very popular.” Bjorn added: “I would buy Lily’s album.”
For now Lily will have to settle with the success of the film’s soundtrack, which is at No1.
Brooklyn's Abi again
BROOKLYN BECKHAM is becoming quite the ladies’ man.
Having split earlier this year from on/off girlfriend Chloe Moretz, he was linked to YouTube star and musician Lexy Panterra.
`However, he is now growing close to model and aspiring singer Abi Manzoni.
The pair were snapped in Los Angeles on Thursday after rumours swirled they were an item.
A source said: “Brooklyn and Abi were acting like a couple, they were glued to each other’s side and very affectionate and attentive towards one another.”
David and Victoria’s eldest child recently dropped out of his university photography degree after one year.
No doubt he’s unconcerned as he is inexplicably handed high-profile photography gigs despite his shameless book on the art flopping last year.
When it comes to work ethic, he should take a leaf out of his new squeeze’s book.
Not only does she sing and model, she also runs her own, er, cannabis business.
The pretty blonde posted a video of herself on Instagram yesterday holding a gigantic bag of marijuana, which she called “leftover stock”.
She captioned the image: “Sometimes my job gets weird. I run a cannabis company that is legally licensed and I do not smoke marijuana.”
We’re not sure if that unusual line of business would fly with Brand Beckham.
It's Britney B****
Leigh-Anne Pinnock has described her daring outfit as a tribute to pop icon Britney Spears.
While her intention, announced in Instagram wasn't immediately obvious to us, lets see if the Little Mix singer does indeed meet official Brit criteria:
Pop princess. Check.
Abs on display. Check.
Nineties-style lace up trousers. Check.
Said trousers hanging seriously low to the pubic bone. Not Check.
Love of Frappuccinos, bad-boy back-up dancers and thankin' the Lord, yall. Unconfirmed.
Theree out of five aint bad, though.
Liam's back to music
LAST week we told you Liam Payne had penned a song about his split from Cheryl Tweedy.
Fast forward a week and now he’s posted an Instagram video clip of the track.
In the moody black and white segment Liam sings: “Call you but you never did/You’re playing feelings like it’s truth or dare/I don’t want to be the one to tell you when it’s over/Everything you do it drives me . . .”
We’re betting that both his and Cheryl’s new albums are going to make VERY interesting listening.

Just be Cher
EMILY RATAJKOWSKI revealed this week her mantra is: “Just be CHER”.
She explained: “The woman would wake up and be like, ‘I’m putting on a sequin bathing suit top today and going to feel good’.”
The newly married model didn’t look very “out-there” Cher as she strolled in New York in casual gym gear.
But she later showed her exhibitionist side by posting another starkers selfie, below.
She could only be “more Cher” if her nipples were bedazzled.
