EMMERDALE'S Robert Sugden has asked Aaron Dingle to adopt baby Seb while his mother Rebecca White was forced to beg for her life.

The scheming businessman - who is played by actor Ryan Hawley in the ITV soap - finally got engaged to Aaron Dingle as they both proposed to each other after weeks of failed proposals.

But not content with a simple engagement, Robert asked Aaron to adopt Seb because Rebecca had disappeared.

However while he was busy planning his son's future without his mother, Rebecca was chained up in a cabin trying desperately to convince her killer nephew Lachlan not to murder her.

"Please Lachlan, let me help you," she said after coming up with a plan telling him she would leave the country if he left her go.

"You're still my family, you always will be.  We'd protect our family name, Chrissie and dad and I leave the country quietly without telling anyone where I'm going.

"It can be easy Lachlan, this nightmare can be over. I knwo that's what you want, it's what I want, it's what your mum would want. And your granddad. This is the last thing you can do to put right what you did to them. We need this to be over. You're just a grieving young man, that's what this has all been about, isn't it?

Please let me disappear with my son, it's the last thing I will ever ask from you. Lachlan.

Rebecca's begging worked and Lachlan took the bottle he had spiked with poison away.

Emmerdale's Lachlan White tells baby Seb he's about to kill his mother Rebecca

He told her: "I'll get Seb away from Robert, he doesn't deserve him anyway.

"I'll need to plan it but I'll get you and Seb out of the country together."

Rebecca broke down in relief as Lachlan left the cabin, but will he stick to his word or was it just another delaying tactic?
