LOVE Island stars get paid just £200 a week to appear on the show – and original Islanders get a bonus of £500 in the first week, according to insiders.
The contestants are given the living expenses to cover their bills, rent and utilities while appearing on the show, says the TV insider.

“Production don’t want the Islanders worrying about their rent or bills piling up at home while they’re away, so they get paid a small amount,” says the source.
“It’s more than the day rate that Towie contestants or X Factor performers get, but it’s still not much.”
When The Sun Online spoke to 2017 Islander Georgia Harrison at The Sun’s Love Island party, she confirmed that they did get paid for their time on the show.
“Of course we get paid but it's not tons, it's just enough to cover the bills or whatever when you are gone,” she says.

“People might be shocked. but it's no £50k, it's just enough to get by really.
“You know we all have rent and stuff, even when living it up in the villa.”
The Sun Online has approached Love Island for comment.
Last night, Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham won the show and walked away with the £50,000 prize after choosing to share it between them.
They now stand to make around £2m in the next year through their own TV show, endorsements and sponsored Instagram posts.
Megan Barton Hanson is also tipped to make big money after appearing on the show.
