Beyonce reveals ‘dangerous and traumatic birth’ of twins Rumi and Sir Carter left her in hospital for a MONTH and why she’s embraced her ‘curvier body’ in stunning Vogue cover shoot
The singer says the experience changed her outlook on life and in a candid interview with Vogue the superstar admitted she'd never go on a 'crazy' diet to lose baby weight ever again
BEYONCE has opened up about the “traumatic birth” of her twins Rumi and Sir Carter in her most candid interview to date with US Vogue Magazine.
The 36-year-old singer wrote the cover story herself and gave fans an insight into a period of her life which has previously been shrouded in secrecy.
Beyonce, whose twins were born in July 2017, said she’d spent a month on bed rest and weighed over 15 stone when she was rushed to hospital.
She wrote in the September issue of : “My health and my babies’ health were in danger, so I had an emergency C-section.
“We spent many weeks in the NICU [Neonatal intensive car unit].
“I was in survival mode and did not grasp it all until months later.”
She admitted she wanted to share the traumatic story to help her fans understand they needed to embrace their natural beauty.
Beyonce went back to the moment she gave birth to Blue Ivy in 2012 to help her fans understand what she meant.
She explained: “I put pressure on myself to lose all the baby weight in three months, and scheduled a small tour to assure I would do it.
“Looking back, that was crazy.”
Following the emergency C-section with Rumi and Carter, Beyonce said she took a different tact and decided to take a break.
She added: “I gave myself self-love and self-care, and I embraced being curvier. I accepted what my body wanted to be.
“To this day my arms, shoulders, breasts, and thighs are fuller. I have a little mommy pouch, and I’m in no rush to get rid of it. I think it’s real.”
Beyonce explained after a six month break she went vegan and cut out alcohol and sugary drinks to get back into shape before Coachella.
She celebrated giving her body a break and said she felt happier being “curvier” and not putting pressure on herself to look a certain way.
Beyonce posed with minimal make up for the stunning fashion shoot, which she said she chose to do because she wanted to prove how she was celebrating her natural beauty.
Her cover story is all the more poignant, as is the only one shot by an African American photographer, Tyler Mitchell.
During her essay for Vogue, Beyonce also discussed her tumultuous relationship with Jay Z, which has been dogged by allegations of infidelity over the years.

She hinted the difficult relationship with her father didn’t help her marriage to the rapper.
Beyonce added: “I come from a lineage of broken male-female relationships, abuse of power, and mistrust.
“Only when I saw that clearly was I able to resolve those conflicts in my own relationship.”
