BEYONCE has opened up about the “traumatic birth” of her twins Rumi and Sir Carter in her most candid interview to date with US Vogue Magazine.

The 36-year-old singer wrote the cover story herself and gave fans an insight into a period of her life which has previously been shrouded in secrecy.

: “My health and my babies’ health were in danger, so I had an emergency C-section.

“We spent many weeks in the NICU [Neonatal intensive car unit].

“I was in survival mode and did not grasp it all until months later.”

During her essay for Vogue, Beyonce also discussed her tumultuous relationship with Jay Z, which has been dogged by allegations of infidelity over the years.

She hinted the difficult relationship with her father didn’t help her marriage to the rapper.

Beyonce added: “I come from a lineage of broken male-female relationships, abuse of power, and mistrust.

“Only when I saw that clearly was I able to resolve those conflicts in my own relationship.”
