BEYONCE’S fans were stunned when she proudly told the world she had a ‘fupa’ in Vogue Magazine.
The 36-year-old superstar made the surprise confession as she opened up about her body image but what is fupa and can you get rid of it? Here's all you need to know...
What is Fupa?
The correction definition of the little-known acronym “fupa” is "fat, upper pubic area”, or medically, the fat upper pelvic area.
The term can also be used as derogatory slang and is generally used to describe a loose layer of fat in the lower abdomen region that can occur after rapid weight loss.
This type of fat is pronounced 'foopa' and can affect both men and women and can be hard to get rid of especially when it’s been ignored for too long.
Beyoncé confessed that her FUPA occured as a result of giving birth of her twins.
What did Beyoncé say in Vogue?
Beyoncé wrote: “To this day my arms, shoulders, breasts, and thighs are fuller. I have a little mommy pouch, and I’m in no rush to get rid of it.
“I think it’s real. Whenever I’m ready to get a six-pack, I will go into beast zone and work my ass off until I have it.
“But right now, my little FUPA and I feel like we are meant to be.”
Many of her loyal followers were full of praise for her confession, with one telling her: "Queen Beyoncé showed love to her FUPA in next month’s Vogue so I’m declaring September 'FUPA Appreciation Month.'”
