The change of scene will be a welcome break for the millionaire property tycoon, as he and his wife Stephanie began divorce proceedings this week.

The couple were the only Married At First Sight newlyweds to survive the show but, soon after the cameras stopped rolling, they split.

Ben, who was pictured outside a London solicitors' office yesterday, is now looking forward to focusing on something positive following a turbulent year.

A source told The Sun Online: "Ben has had a year from hell so is thrilled to be going on Celebrity Big Brother.

"It means he can finally put the past behind him and move on."

Ben tied the knot with Steph - a total stranger - on September 30, 2017 in front of Channel 4 cameras.

But after a rocky three months, he told her that he wanted a divorce and was shocked to learn he may have to wait 12 months for it to be made official.

Speaking to The Sun Online earlier this year, Ben said: "Steph’s a wonderful woman with a heart of gold and we were both 110 per cent in it to make it work.

"I never got into this to get divorced so didn’t ever consider that we’d have to stay together for a year if it didn’t work.

"I’m a Catholic boy and I take marriage very seriously - but it just wasn’t working."

However, the pair have been able to set the wheels in motion already, meaning Ben has had a big weight lifted from his shoulders before his CBB stint.

And another insider believes this could be the start of something big.

The second source says: "Ben's career is definitely on the up.

"He is absolutely made for TV and is the perfect choice for Celebrity Big Brother.

"Ben is bursting with charisma and charm and is also such a nice guy to be around.

"He's definitely going to prove popular with both his fellow housemates and viewers at home."

The new series of Celebrity Big Brother starts on Channel 5 on August 16, 2018 at 9pm.

Other stars entering the house include Human Ken Doll Rodrigo Alves, ex-Corrie actor Ryan Thomas and Love Island 2017 contestant Gabby Allen.

Former Towie star Dan Osborne has also signed up, along with US actress Kirsty Alley and footballer Jermaine Pennant.
