Brad Pitt says he has given Angelina Jolie £7m since split after court papers accused Hollywood star of not paying enough child support
BRAD Pitt has hit back at Angelina Jolie's claims that he has failed to pay her "meaningful child support" since their split.
Lawyers for the actor, 54, have claimed in court documents that Brad has shelled out more than £7million to the actress, 43, over the past two years.
TMZ report that the documents state that Brad loaned his ex-wife £6million "to assist her in purchasing her current residence" and £900k in child support.
They also claim Angelina's filing is "unnecessary, omits material information and is a thinly-veiled effort to manipulate media coverage."
Furthermore, Brad's lawyers say Angelina's claims in court papers that the actor hasn't paid enough child support are "calculated to increase the conflict".
The Sun reported yesterday how Angelina has begged a divorce judge to end her marriage with Brad.
The Maleficent star filed documents in her messy split with the Benjamin Button actor, 54, who she separated from back in 2016.
Her lawyer asked their judge to issue a final divorce decree this year and make her a single woman again.
The documents also claim that Brad has not paid “meaningful child support” since their separation and has not even lived up to an “informal arrangement” they set up.
Angelina wants the judge to issue a formal child support order on her behalf.
Her lawyer Samantha Bley DeJean wrote in the new court filing said: "(Brad has a duty to pay child support. As of present, (Pitt) has paid no meaningful child support since separation.
“The payment of the children's expenses have not been regularly sustained by (Brad) for over a year and a half.”
Under California law, each parent is responsible for providing for the children based upon the agreement reached between the couple.
Angelina's lawyers are now asking to appear before the judge to schedule a status conference in the case to address the financial issue amid the couple’s separation.
The warring pair Angelina split in September 2016, citing irreconcilable differences.
The Oscar-winning actress had six children with her actor husband, ranging in age from nine to 16.
