BBC bosses think he’ll dazzle viewers and judges alike, with a source telling : “He’s a housewives’ favourite on ITV daytime so he’s sure to have big support when he takes to the dancefloor.”

BBC One has remained tight lipped on the long-awaited line-up, but yesterday The Sun revealed former Pussy Cat Doll Ashley Roberts has also signed on the dotted line.

Other celebs rumoured to be sashaying their way into Strictly are Faye Tozer from Steps, Scarlett Moffatt, The Chase star Mark Labbett, Union J singer  Josh Cuthbert, former Coronation Street actress Catherine Tyldesley and ex-England player Alex Scott.

Dr Ranj proved he’s up for a challenge last year when he joined Britain’s most ballsy beefcakes and stripped off to promote body confidence in men.
