Technology will be the key factor in deciding what action viewers watch in the nightly edit

The Microsoft Azure Media Analytics system recognises facial expressions, language and keywords to effectively pin point dramatic moments.

Lisa Perrin, Chief Executive Officer of Creative Networks for the Endemol Shine Group, said: "When you’re filming around the clock, there can be hours of nothing happening. Watching screens for so many feeds and arduously logging moments is very tedious.

“Now, with Azure Media Analytics, we zero in on the most interesting actions rather than wading through hours of footage.”

“In seconds, we’re able to locate video captured at, say, 1:10 AM that reflects exactly what we want to show on the program, even if no one was watching at the time. That’s a big saving on resources.

“Adopting this ground-breaking technology will completely revolutionise the way we produce our global formats and opens up an unprecedented level of creative freedom. In terms of time and efficiency, we’ve really upped our game with Azure Media Analytics.”

Contestants could also be fitted with heart rate sensors that might be used to detect romances between housemates.

Yesterday the new look house was revealed for the first time and The Sun got an exclusive peek inside.

From the moment the stars step into the house they will be greeted with two neon lightning bolts either side, guiding them down the steep stairs.

Here's a sneak peak at the 2018 Celebrity Big Brother house which is ready for the housemates to enter on 16 August

The electric blue colour transforms the tiny space, giving it an exciting feel for the celebrities who have just waved goodbye to life as they know it on the outside.

In a daunting new twist, celebrities won't be able to see who is already in the house because there is a door at the bottom of the stairs.

But at least if they have an awkward stumble it'll only be the millions of people watching at home who see it happen.
