VICK Hope has insisted she isn’t a celebrity — despite landing a spot on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
The BBC yesterday confirmed the Capital FM breakfast DJ, 28, has signed up, as The Sun revealed weeks ago.
The line-up includes Steps’ Faye Tozer, TV presenter Katie Piper, YouTuber Joe Sugg and Red Dwarf actor Danny John-Jules.
Vick said: “It’s really surreal. This is a huge show. My mum knows this show. I can’t pretend I’m a celebrity like some of the others.”
She added: “What an opportunity. I’m a fan of the show and I feel very honoured to be part of it.”
Vick also opened up about having worked as a club dancer.
She said: “I used to do contemporary dance, so I’d pretend to be a tree or a rock. I don’t know how useful that is going to be. Latin and ballroom, I’ve got absolutely no clue. It’s completely out of my comfort zone.”
The multilingual presenter recently split from actor Tom Rosenthal, 30, who starred in Channel 4 comedy Friday Night Dinner.
Asked about possible romance and the Strictly curse, Vick said: “I’ve got much bigger things to think about right now and that’s learning how to dance.
“I love dancing. It makes me happy. It makes people happy. I’m so excited. I like shaking my hips.”

Ex-England cricketer Graeme Swann, 39, was also formerly announced yesterday, two days after being named by The Sun.
He said: “I’m hoping to follow in the footsteps of the cricketers who have come before me, who have either won the whole thing or had an absolute ball on the show.
“I don’t have any dance background but can do the floss so let’s hope this comes in useful.”
