CORONATION Street fans are mutinous after Jenny admitted she’s taken down Rovers Return legend Betty’s picture from the boozer.
To make matters worse, she has also taken the iconic hot pot off the menu.
She made the admission in tonight’s first episode and said they’d removed the snap because they were “dragging the pub into the 21st century” during the refurbishment.
Betty worked as a barmaid in the iconic pub for 43 years and appeared in over 2000 episodes.
Her picture has sat proudly on the wall of the pub ever since actress Elizabeth Mary Driver passed away in 2011.
However it seems there is no longer a place in the pub for Betty, after Johnny and Jenny started to overhaul the boozer.
After she confessed to getting rid of the hot pot and the picture, Gemma was outraged and shouted: “You can’t do that!”
Jenny tried to defend their decision to get rid of the Betty’s picture but fans said it was unforgivable.
One tweeted: “Betty would be turning in her grave listen to them getting rid of her legendary hotpot!!”
Another said: “No more Hotpots! Betty Turpin would be spinning in her grave, god rest her soul.”
While a third seethed: “Oh my god Jenny and Johnny I can’t believe you took Betty photo down Betty is the rovers I don’t like Jenny she’s just an evil person”
Later on this evening fans will see what Jenny and Jonny have done to the boozer after they host a grand reopening of the pub.
Coronation Street continues tonight at 8:30pm on ITV.
