Who is Imelda McCarron on Bake Off? Countryside recreation officer from County Tyrone in Northern Ireland sent home in week one
THE Great British Bake Off is back with a whole new group of hopeful bakers looking to impress the judges.
Among them was aspiring baker Imelda McCarron who fell at the biscuit hurdle in week one. Here's everything you need to know about her.
Who is Imelda McCarron on Great British Bake Off?
Imelda was one of 12 bakers hoping to impress the judges this year.
She grew up in County Tyrone in Northern Ireland and currently works as a countryside recreation officer.
It was there that she first learned how to bake with her mother.
These days, Imelda spends her time baking for her father and son.
The keen baker entered GBBO to challenge herself and put herself out there.
“My friends will be so so surprised, they wouldn’t think I would do something like this.”
Imelda left the show in week one - Biscuit Week - and declared: "I hate biscuits."
Why did she go on the show?
Imelda said she decided to enter the tent competition for herself.
She revealed: "I went in for me as a challenge obviously for the baking, but also to have the confidence of meeting new people, I don’t usually put myself out there personally."
