PETER Barlow will become a victim of a vicious gang shooting tonight in Coronation Street.

But will he survive the attack and will Simon still give evidence against Tyler in Court? - here's the lowdown...

Is Peter Barlow leaving Coronation Street?

Peter Barlow could be set to make an exit from the soap after he gets shot by Tyler Jeffries tonight.

The attack comes following Simon's return from Cornwall for his sentencing - he already received threatening messages from the gang "welcoming" him home.

Simon shows the text to Peter who vows to protect him at all costs and Carla takes him to the factory to keep him safe.

But when pregnant Sinead falls ill, Carla gets distracted which gives Tyler and the gang an opportunity to attack.

Will Peter Barlow survive the gang attack in Corrie?

The gang seize their opportunity and start hammering on the factory door and shouting threats.

They get a hold of Simon and try to drag him into their but Kate Connor manages to save him.

But as they drive past Tyler shoots Peter in the chest and Carla screams in terror.

Chris Gascoyne previously told : "Things turn really nasty next week when Peter gets caught in the crossfire, literally”

“Tyler’s mates have made a gun and they fire out of a car window. Peter is hit in the chest and Carla is hysterical.”

But will Peter get to hospital before it's too late?

Why is Simon Barlow set to appear in court?

Simon Barlow is set to appear in court for his involvement with Tyler's gang.

Following an attack on Audrey Roberts, they carried out an attempted burglary on elderly Flora and knocked her out.

Simon was arrested - but when confessed to the police who his accomplice was he was immediately subjected to threats.

Tyler laced sausages with slug pellets and poisoned the Barlow family dog Eccles to warn Simon that he would be the next target.
