Who is Brendan Murray? Former X Factor 2018 contestant who competed for Ireland in Eurovision
AT just 21 years of age Brendan Murray has been in a successful boy band and competed in Eurovision.
He made it as far as the X Factor semi-finals - here's everything we know about him.
Who is Brendan Murray?
Brendan Murray is a 21-year old plumber from Galway, Ireland.
He first took to the X Factor stage to sing Ella Eyre's version of the hit song We Don't Have to Take Our Clothes Off.
However, he was told by Simon Cowell that this was an unfortunate song choice, while fellow judge Robbie Williams added: "You have an impossible perfect pop voice".
His performance in the Six Chair Challenge received a standing ovation, with Simon telling him he's in a different league to his fellow contestants.
During the Judges Houses' stage of the competition, Brendan sang Nothing Compares 2 U byPrincee and managed to wow the judges into letting him move on to the live shows.
Liam Tomlinson loved his performance, saying: "It was beautiful. I was holding back tears, I was trying to be cool!"
X-FACTOR EXPERT? Only die-hard fans (and Louis Walsh) will get full marks in this tricky quiz
This isn't Brendan's first try at stardom, as he previously appeared in the second Eurovision semi-finals in Kiev 2017 with a ballad, that he sadly missed it by coming in 13th place.
He was also part of the Irish boyband Hometown - managed by former X Factor judge Louis Walsh.
Maybe the third time will be the lucky one for this talented hopeful.
Who are this year's X Factor judges?
The judging panel for the fifteenth series of the show has seen a major overhaul.
Simon Cowell remains but all three other judges have been replaced.
That means that Nicole Scherzinger, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne are no longer on the panel.
Instead, they have been replaced by Louis Tomlinson, Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda Field. Sharon Osbourne will also help out during the live shows.
When is The X Factor 2018 on?
New episodes of The X Factor air every Saturday and Sunday on ITV.
It usually starts around 8pm although the time can vary from week to week.
Last year's contest was won by Rak-Su who triumphed in the final over Grace Davies.
Following the first auditions, the Six Chair Challenge and the Judges' Houses, the live shows kicked off on Saturday, October 20.
