Why does Ellis arrive in the village?
Ellis is introduced as a love interest for Victoria Barton, Isabel Hodgins, who has recently decided to start dating again following her husband, Adam, taking the blame for his mum Moira killing Emma Barton and going on the run.
He arrives for a date with her at the Woolpack, but when Victoria’s friend Matty Barton spots him flirting with another girl, they get into a fight.
Marlon Dingle is forced to step to stop the brawl but ends up getting caught up in it.
It’s later revealed that Ellis is the son of head teacher Jessie Grant, Sandra Marvin, who Marlon is in a relationship with.
Ellis tells his mum that he’s decided not to do a teacher training course and will be sticking around the village.
Asan told Inside Soap that his character is ‘a cheeky chap. He’s a Jack-the-lad who gets into trouble sometimes.’
He also revealed that Ellis has been staying with his dad, but he’s kicked him out now he’s quit his course.
