Take Me Out presenter Paddy McGuinness wants to make you RICH – and you won’t even need to move from your sofa
TV star Paddy McGuinness has helped people find love – now he wants to make them rich.
The host of hit ITV dating programme Take Me Out has just filmed a pilot episode for a new game show called Home Win.
The format sees four members of the public settling down for an evening of primetime TV on their sofa, when Paddy will appear on their screen out of the blue.
After announcing they are on a two-way link to his studio via Skype, they then take part in a general knowledge quiz to win a big cash prize.
A source said: “Paddy was thrilled to be handed another new pilot, it’s been a great year for him career-wise and, being a comedian, the idea of surprising people by just appearing out of nowhere in their home really appealed to him.
“The show has been a long time in the pipeline, but they’ve been waiting for the right host.”
Paddy himself is a fan of a night in. The star said: “I don’t have a showbizzy life. I’m always in, out and straight back home. In my job people think you’re out at every kind of party. I did all that years ago. I’m a lot more mellow now.
“I really like being at home, with the kids in bed, telly on, a takeaway — sometimes I’ll go salt-and-pepper ribs, sometimes a curry — with my shorts and T-shirt on. I like getting back to my bed.”
The source added: “The pilot show has been filmed and bosses are hoping it will get off the ground for a whole series.”
It sounds fun, but not if you just wanted to enjoy a relaxing takeaway on the sofa.
Paul has to lump it in gym
BAKING bread isn’t the most strenuous of activities – but The Great British Bake Off’s Paul Hollywood might argue otherwise.
The master baker has had to give up any form of exercise after getting a hernia – a painful lump in his tum – from years of rolling out dough.
Asked if he exercises, he said: “I don’t really. I’ve got diagnosed with a little hernia here [pointing to his tummy]. It’s from years of baking.”
The C4 judge found out about the condition after experiencing cramps during training and later getting himself checked out.
During the Q&A at his appearance at Chatsworth Fair on Sunday, he added: “I was starting to get into boxing and I did martial arts for 15 years. I started training again and I was cramping up and I didn’t know what it was.
“When it’s sorted I’ll be back training but at the moment nothing . . . just eating all the time. Trying to get it sorted.”
Weeks of cake tasting during filming probably doesn’t help matters . . .
Dani: Life with Jack is great
THEY only met each other three months ago, but Love Island winners Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham are already acting like an old married couple.
Talking about being shacked up together in a flat in Essex, Dani said: “It’s lovely, I love it. It’s fun. I feel like a housewife.”
But it has taken her a while to accommodate Jack’s massive shoe collection.
He said on This Morning: “I just bought loads of trainers and she said, ‘You literally don’t need that many’. It’s been lovely, just doing normal stuff. Just doing an online food shop together, but she just got one banana.”
Jack is already keen to expand their brood. He said: “I really want a dog, but we have a flat and it’s not fair.”

DIY Grenfell special
Nick Knowles has heard some heart–breaking tales during his 19 years at the helm of BBC1’s DIY SOS – but tomorrow’s Grenfell special was especially emotional.
On the show, airing at 9pm, he comes face-to-face with survivors of last year’s tower block blaze in West London, which killed 72 people. Nick said: “There have been more tears through this than anything we have ever done. It was a massively important build to us. If we never did anything else, this would be enough.”
The team built a bespoke community centre and boxing club in 63 days – their longest build ever. And among the hundreds of volunteers who pitched in was Prince William.
Nick said: “He came to visit and did a bit of painting . . . Weirdly, he wouldn’t leave the wall until it was finished. I said, ‘We need to move on.’ And he said, ‘Not yet, I haven’t finished it.’”
Kate Middleton will have a DIY list as long as her arm when she hears about this.
