Celebrity Big Brother's Ryan Thomas cries and says his life's in tatters after Roxanne Pallett 'punch' row
"I needed to come and tell everyone that I got it wrong. I'm human. I made a massive, massive, horrible mistake."
The four minute interview was pre-recorded as Channel 5 bosses decided not to put Roxanne in front of a live audience.
When Emma told Roxanne she had blown things out of proportion she replied: “How it felt when he did it, it hurt. I can’t prove a feeling, no one can.
“But the more I thought, the more it became heightened. I convinced myself that he meant to do it.”
Emma asked Roxanne why she initially laughed off Ryan's play fighting.
The former Emmerdale star replied that after watching the footage back she understood why the public had reacted in the way they had.
She said: “I saw what every person saw. I don’t blame anyone for thinking 'why did she joke it off?'
'I am more shocked at myself. I need to think about why I used humour when something bothered me in my mind.
"I've asked myself why I didn't I go and confront Ryan.
'I convinced myself that it was done with malice. It wasn't - I know it wasn't now.
Roxanne Pallett makes the decision to leave Celebrity Big Brother following Ben Jardine's eviction
"Seeing the footage of Ryan in the Diary Room all distressed... I agree fully and understand with every single person's reaction and perception.
"I would have been the same, if I was at home watching it.
"I believed my own story. I felt genuinely disturbed that he had invaded my personal space. I was wrong, massively wrong."
After fans of CBB claimed Roxanne was given an easy ride during an interview on The Jeremy Vine Show, Emma made sure she gave Roxanne a grilling.
She said: “Consider the implications! Can you imagine if those cameras hadn’t have been there? You would have ruined him.”
Roxanne replied: “It cripples me with embarrassment and shame. Seeing Ryan distressed...”
But Emma hit back saying: “You have had the luxury of time and research. A lot of people aren't buying your apology.”
She went on to call Roxanne's behaviour "worrying".
She asked if Roxanne felt she could be forgiven. The actress said: "I would hope that I could be."
Roxanne continued: "I wish I had the words to say how gutted... hindsight is a great thing.
"I used terminology like woman beater, assault and abuse, I can't apologise enough."
Emma asked if she had spoken to Ryan's family. She replied: "I wouldn't impose on Ryan's family but I can't apologise enough for trying to label someone as something he's not.'
When Emma asked Roxanne how her loved ones felt, the soap star said: “My family are gutted.”
Emma responded: “Gutted for you?” leaving Roxanne scrambling to explain. She said: “Gutted for me, gutted at the whole situation.”
The interview ended in a very awkwardly, with Emma pulling out her earpiece and saying, “Thanks everyone” to the film crew.
Roxanne looked distinctly uncomfortable as she waited to leave the set.
