THE 2018 The Great British Bake Off bakers battled the heat in week two in soaring temperatures in the tent.
It was Cake Week and the bakers rose to the challenges and produced some chocolate masterpieces. So whose bakes didn't quite go to plan and who claimed the coveted Star Baker title?
What happened during Cake Week?
Eleven bakers took on the task of making a variety of cakes for the judges.
But who impressed Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith?
Here are the winners of each challenge;
- Signature Bake - Dan Beasley-Harling.
- Technical Challenge - Jon Jenkins.
- The Showstopper challenge was to create a two-tier chocolate cake and the challenge was won by Rahul.
Who left the tent in episode two of GBBO 2018?
After much tasting and deliberating Prue and Paul decided that Luke Thompson's time in the competition was over.
Before he entered the tent, the novice baker said: "I tend to bake most on weekends and sometimes in the week after work if I get the chance."
Luke says his baking is inspired by morning cookery shows and his travels throughout Europe and North America.
Who was the second Star Baker?
Rahul Mandal impressed the judges and claimed the coveted title.
He impressed the judges with his skills and his showstopper even earned an unprecedented handshake from Paul.

When is The Great British Bake Off on?
The Great British Bake Off 2018 started on Tuesday, August 28, at 8pm on Channel 4 and it will be shown in the same time slot each Tuesday.
If you miss an episode you can catch it on All 4 and Jo Brand will be back with An Extra Slice on Friday at 8pm, also on C4.
The judges and presenters are unchanged from last year - Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood judge, while Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig as hosts.
