PAUL Hollywood left Bake Off fans furious last night by awarding three of his famous handshakes on one show.
The master baker's gesture has become known as a top honour for bakers over the years, but viewers were not happy he was giving them out "all over the shop".
Paul awarded the first handshake of the series to Dan, who impressed with his boozy black forest gateaux traybake during the first round.
The 52-year-old went on to give another handshake to Rahul for his two-tiered chocolate cake in the more difficult Showstopper challenge.
However, Paul then gave a third handshake to fan favourite Ruby for her chocolate-orange creation only minutes later, leaving both the tent and viewers gobsmacked.
Even the baker himself was suprised by his flippant award-giving, admitting to the camera: "I'm disappointed with myself!"
Viewers were quick to agree with the bread expert, and complained he was "devaluing" the prize on Twitter.
One wrote: "Paul Hollywood has really devalued his handshake #CakeWeek #GBBO"
While others added: "Remember the days when Paul wouldn’t shake everyone’s hand and it was actually an achievement"
And: "Hollywood Handshake dropping in value faster than the pound against the Euro..."
Others however were quick to poke fun at the judge, writing: "Paul Hollywood is drunk on his own handshake power isn’t he?"
And: "Bloody hell Paul do you want to just shake my hand as well???"
Another joked: "You get a handshake! And you get a handshake! And you get a... "
While further fans agreed: "Is it me or Paul shaking everyone’s hand in the episode?! *i made a cake* *shakes hand*"
And: "Paul Hollywood isn’t allowed to give another handshake for the rest of the series after this week’s handshakefest, right...? #GBBO"
Rahul was named Star Baker for Cake Week, after wowing with his chocolate creation as well as his impressive Le Gateaux Vert.
The bizarre Technical challenge left viewers disgusted, as the recipe used spinach to give the cake its green colour.
Luke sadly got the boot this week, after failing to complete stop his raspberry and white chocolate Showstopper from melting in the 30 degree heat of the tent.
