BAKE Off viewers were outraged last night when the show aired its first ever swear word.
Fans of the Channel 4 show were gobsmacked when baking hopeful Manon Lagreve was bleeped out, after dropping the F-bomb during the Showstopper challenge.
The final challenge sent the tent into chaos, as the contestants were tasked with creating a chocolate collar cake in 30 degree heat.
Manon, who hails from France, chose to make a cake for the children she used to au pair, which featured fondant figurines of a young prince and princess.
Host Noel Fielding immediately compared the little boy to Sandi Toksvig, joking: "Sandi's had an accident!" after spotting the iced figure lying on the table.
When he asked Manon if the decorations were based on them, she quipped: "Yeah, well it's you fast asleep and Sandi is f***ed off because you’re late."
Her outburst left Sandi and Noel in shock, with the Mighty Boosh star commenting: "I think you're looking at the wrong script!"
Fans were also gobsmacked, and were quick to complain about her bad language on Twitter.
One questioned: "Swearing on bake off??? is that a thing we’re doing now"
While others added: "There's never been swearing on Bake Off what is this!?", "Was that the first ever swear word bleeped out on Bake Off!!???" and "MANON WE DO NOT SWEAR ON BAKE OFF"
Another fan commented: "Manon’s voice is so sweet and innocent which makes the sudden swearing all the more unexpected"
While another joked: "Manon swearing, Noel talking about sex work, is this Bake Off After Dark?"
Manon has already drawn ire from fans, after The Sun revealed she competed in BBC cookery show The Box in 2015.
Sparking a fix row, a TV source said: "It’s meant to be a level playing field for all contestants in terms of stepping into that tent for the first time.
“For one person to have been in a TV environment before gives them a huge advantage."
